Finding The Best Las Vegas Wedding Chapel For You

Monday, October 22nd, 2007

A Las Vegas wedding. Just the words conjure up a variety of images, from the kitschy to the sublime, from the cheesy to the elegant. Yes, its true. You can have an elegant wedding in Las Vegas. You can also have an Elvis impersonator at your wedding.

You know, its all about choices.

And perhaps nowhere else in the world will you find more choices for your wedding than in Las Vegas. Its the true wedding capital. Made famous by a variety of high-profile celebrity weddings and its own courting of the engaged (and impetuous) set, Las Vegas is known perhaps more for its weddings than anything else. Add to that the ability to get a marriage license 24 hours a day and no requirement for a blood test or waiting period, and you have the recipe for wedding central.

Consequently, most hotels have a chapel on-site and there are, of course, a multitude of choices in stand-alone chapels, throughout the Vegas region.

Most Las Vegas wedding chapels will offer a host of services, from flowers and photography to live web cams so your family can watch from wherever they are. If you didnt plan the wedding, but make a quick Vegas decision to do the deed, you can get a gown, rings, videotape and anything else you can think of, truly. Depending on your needs, one of the great benefits of a Vegas wedding is the ‘all inclusive’ philosophy that permeates most chapels. Since you can package a wedding with many details included, paying for the wedding can certainly be less stress than organizing all the details on your own for a ‘traditional’ wedding.

There are a variety of choices in Las Vegas wedding chapels:

Hotel Chapels

You can have an elegant wedding at a high-end hotel like the Bellagio or Mandalay Bay. Both offer a variety of wedding services and packages in elegant and refined surroundings. Both also offer vow renewal ceremonies. Like most Vegas facilities, you wont have a wedding for 500 guests here. Most hotels can comfortably accommodate up to 130 guests or so.

Depending on your budget, a hotel wedding might be a bit much to stomach. Most weddings are in the $2,000 range, with some of the most elegant costing $5,000, $10,000 or even $15,000.

Nearly all hotel casinos on the famous Vegas strip will have some sort of wedding facilities, with a variety of amenities offered and in a variety of price ranges.

Chapels on the Las Vegas Strip

Now, if you want to have the ‘classic’ Las Vegas wedding, youll head down the strip for one of the many wedding chapels. Here, you can have themed weddings ranging from the ubiquitous Elvis wedding to the less-traditional NASCAR wedding. You might choose to be Cinderella for a day, or get married in biker garb or your bathing suit. Thats cool… in Vegas weddings, pretty much anything goes.

Baby, Elvis typifies so much about Vegas that there are any number of ways you can incorporate The King into your wedding. He might make an appearance, or your beloved might want to dress in a fine white polyester suit. Even better, you can have that old Hound Dog perform the wedding.

At the Elvis Wedding Chapel, its all Elvis all the time. This chapel is the largest in Las Vegas and can seat up to 120 people. Be sure to make room for The King, though, as he will be an integral part of any wedding there.

Most wedding chapels in Las Vegas will offer a full range of wedding services, but if you want a reception, thats extra and sometimes cant be had at the chapel itself. Many Vegas wedding experts recommend reserving a room in a nice restaurant for the reception, if you want one.

If you want to be a part of history when you get married, consider the Little White Chapel. This is a true Vegas experience that also features the famous ‘Tunnel of Love’ wedding drive-through. Like many Vegas chapels, this chapel offers a live webcam so your friends and family who arent with you in Las Vegas can see your wedding.

Wedding prices on the strip are quite a bit lower than at the hotel casinos. At the Little White Chapel, for instance, the most expensive wedding package (the ‘Honeymooner’) is a mere $811.

Las Vegas weddings are always spectacular and sometimes they are more difficult to plan from another town. Here are a few tricks to make planning for Las Vegas weddings easier.

Flowers for Las Vegas Weddings
If you are savvy how to choose floral items for your wedding, you can save time and money and plan your wedding with a lot less frustration. Flowers are an important part of weddings because they add beauty to the locations where ceremonies and receptions are held. There are many factors to consider including what flowers are in season, allergies of the bride or groom, the color scheme of the wedding, and the budget available for floral services. Every bride has her own favorite flower, but putting together beautiful bouquets, corsages, and centerpieces is more confusing than just choosing one particular flower.

Refreshments for Las Vegas Weddings
Candy bars, individual bags of coffee and tea, and other food items can have your custom information printed on the wrappers. You can select from an assortment of flavors so that picky eaters will be able to find something they like. If you want a customized wedding favor, you can choose food and beverages that have your names and wedding date on them. Good communication, written agreements, and a thorough interview and selection process will help you avoid problems and help you stay on track so that everything runs smoothly. Music can set the mood for your celebration and get people out of their seats and onto the dance floor. Choosing the entertainment for your wedding can be difficult if you dont plan ahead and make sure you handle many of the arrangements in a timely manner.

Favors for Las Vegas Weddings
The bitterness of the almond and the sweetness of the coated candy exemplify the bitter sweetness of a marriage. Wedding favors have made the brides to do list and climbing the list as a very important item. For centuries, almonds were commonly distributed to wedding guests to signify well wishes on the bridegrooms new life. Choose something that appeals to a wide audience and your guests will be sure to appreciate your thoughtfulness.

Cakes for Las Vegas Weddings
The cake is sometimes served as a dessert along with fresh fruit or ice cream. The cake may symbolize the new family members unit formed and the replacement of the old parent-child union. In medieval times, each guest at a wedding was supposed to bring a small cake, the cakes would be stacked on the table in levels and layers (If the man and woman were able to kiss over the top of the stack it was considered good luck). The tiered design of the wedding cake originates from the tiered spire of a well known medieval church in London, England, called St Brides.

Follow the straightforward clues and your Las Vegas wedding will be a hit and it wont be difficult to plan from where you are.

An exciting Las Vegas Bachelorette Party

Saturday, October 13th, 2007

Chippendales

Ladies who are planning their last outing as a single with friends to celebrate a las Vegas bachelorette party before tying the knot may want to visit this traditional bastion of female partying. The Chippendale Theater features a live performance of attractive men strutting their stuff. With 400 seats, a Flirt Lounge, and a shopping boutique, many women consider this to be the ultimate girls night out.

The theater accepts most forms of payment. Open every day but Wednesday, the show begins 8:30 Sunday through Tuesday and Thursday, with later openings at 10:30 for Fridays and Saturdays. The perfect place for a bachelorette party in las Vegas, the show begins with a stirring countdown and then the male performers take roles from cowboys to street dancers in scenes as exotic from the streets of New York to the plains of Africa. No one under 18 allowed.

Thunder From Down Under

Thunder from Down Under features a bevy of male babes from Australia. The 75-minute show allows them to take it all off to a barely there remnant, leaving little to the imagination. Prices begin at $43.95 and there is an age limit that prohibits anyone less than 18 years of age from entering. Those aged 18 to 20 must be escorted by an adult.

The all-male dance revue proudly sports an assortment of Aussies whose goal is to satisfy every customer. Evoking memories of the likes of James Dean and paying tribute to men in uniforms of every kind, the revue tastefully performs to music like ‘Proud Mary’ and hits from ‘Grease,’ among others. A self-service bar is available in the theater to serve thirsty patrons. Ask about las Vegas bachelorette party packages. The shows begin at 8 and 10:30 from Friday through Wednesday, with no performance offered on Thursdays. The usual credit and cash payments are accepted.

Body English

Body English is housed inside the Hard Rock Hotel and is billed as elegance with an edge. Handicapped accessible, the cover fee is $30 for men, $20 for ladies, and local women can enter free of charge. Music styles typically feature hip-hop, rock, and house. Mirrored walls, crystal chandeliers, and leather seats evoke images of European decadence and posh celebrity style. Booths seat four with a bottle requirement of $300.

Coyote Ugly

Coyote Ugly in Las Vegas is a sister site to the New York establishment. Customers get the feel of a Southern bar. This is no upscale establishment with a strict dress code like many others located in the Las Vegas entertainment district. Patrons come here to drink. Located inside the New York-New York, cover fees are $10 for women and $20 for men.
